Custom Cut EPS Roof Insulation for CineDome Attraction
Dome Shaped Roof Calls for Out-of-the-box Product Needs
When an area attraction needed a new roof for an architecturally pleasing, yet complex building, the contractor called Benchmark Foam for roofing insulation help. The Washington Pavilion (Sioux Falls, S.D.) is the region’s home for the arts, entertainment and science. Earlier this fall, the Wells Fargo CineDome, part of the Pavilion, needed a new roof for its true to form, semispherical top.
To achieve the proper dome shape, Benchmark Foam custom-cut pie-shaped pieces of its expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam insulation to fit exactly as needed. At its thickest section, the EPS insulation is 24” and tapers down to 8”.
The layout required installation to be choreographed in a specific order to achieve the appropriate shape, to which Benchmark labeled each piece to its respective position.
The next time you have an orchestrated project that requires attention to detail, rely on the Benchmark team to help solve your needs. Call us at 800-658-3444 to find out more about the CineDome project – or to discuss an upcoming roofing project.
