New Benchmark Foam Facility Nears Completion
09-03-09
Just eight months since fire destroyed the Watertown, S.D. plant, the new facility is nearly complete. Constructed of pre-cast concrete panels, the 64,000-square-foot building will house all product lines:
Geofoam
Roofing Insulation
Signs By Benchmark
Custom Molded Packaging
High-Density Insulation
100% recycled eps360
Specialty Foam & Coatings
Structural Insulated Panels
Insulating Concrete Forms (ICF)
Commercial & Residential Insulation
Exterior Insulation & Finish Systems (EIFS)
Located in the Pheasant Ridge Industrial Park just east of the I-29 Watertown exits, the plant is scheduled for production occupancy in mid-September.
Since the fire, production and office staff have been successfully operating out of two temporary facilities. New building completion will bring the entire team back together and mark full recovery from a catastrophic event that, in the words of Benchmark Foam President Tom Devine, “Destroyed only a building, not a business.”
Pulling together under any set of circumstances is just common practice for the Benchmark Foam team. As in years past, this strength has been repeatedly displayed throughout the past eight months. Because of this, our customers have received the same high level of support they have always enjoyed. Whether it’s constructing a new facility or providing
outstanding service, quick response is – and always will – be our guarantee!
